Cefixime – An Effective Gonorrhoea Treatment
Many people in today’s society have been found to be affected by some or the other sexually transmitted infection and the numbers are slowly increasing. A majority of the sexually transmitted infections are bacterial in nature, while some others are viral in nature. Gonorrhea is one of the most commonly experienced bacterial STI, second only to chlamydia. Gonorrhoea (gonorrhea) is caused by the bacterium known as Neisseria gonorrhoeae and is commonly known to affect men who are between 20 to 24 years of age and women who are between 16 to 19 years old.
The symptoms that are experienced by men who have contracted this infection include clouded discharge from the penis and swollen or painful testicles. Women, on the other hand, can experience symptoms such as painful or burning sensation while urinating, vaginal bleeding in between periods and increased vaginal discharge. If you are experiencing such symptoms, you can take the gonorrhea test and get yourself diagnosed for the infection. You should take the test two weeks after having unprotected sexual intercourse, as the bacteria takes that amount of time to show up as an infection on the test.
If the test results are positive, it indicates that you have contracted this bacterial STI and it needs to be treated. You can use Cefixime for treating the infection, which if used exactly as prescribed can also cure the infection completely. You need to take one single dosage of Cefixime, which is sufficient enough to completely cure an infection such as gonorrhoea. For treating this infection, you are required to take 400 mg dosage of Cefixime. But if you are unable to tolerate high dosages of antibiotics, you can also use Doxycycline.
